Rangers at the Blue Ridge Parkway have several free events scheduled for this weekend.
Ranger Amy Renfranz said a program about the bear’s keen sense of smell will be held tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at the Julian Price Picnic Area. The Junior Rangers’ program is called Bears, Berries, and Burgers.
A special program will be held Friday evening at 8:00 at the Julian Price Amphitheater that highlights bats and bees.
Renfranz said residents are also invited to join a ranger on Saturday evening at 8:00 at the Julian Price Amphitheater and learn about nocturnal animals that call the Blue Ridge Parkway Home. This 40-minute program is called Working the Night Shift.
Sunday afternoon at 5:30, a ranger will lead a 2.3-mile walk around Price Park Lake and talk about Julian Price’s impact on the region. The hike is expected to last about an hour and will begin at Julian Price Amphitheater.
Renfranz said rangers will also be giving tours of the second floor of Cone Manor every Saturday and Sunday until mid October. Reservations are required to take this tour.
All these events are free and open to the public.
And when you become one of the 20 million travelers onto the Blue Ridge Parkway North Carolina and require Blue Ridge Parkway NC Lodging, you will want to visit BLUE RIDGE FOR RENT first for the luxury Blue Ridge Vacation Rentals and luxury Blue Ridge Cabin Rentals in the area.
