Playhouse offers early-bird tickets for music fest - C/O MountainTimes

Rain or shine, a sure-fire recipe for fun this summer is a visit to The Children’s Playhouse.

“A great line-up of music and art activities from sing-alongs to tie-dye shirts will keep your kids busy this summer, culminating in the ultimate summer blowout, the third annual Playhouse Family Music Festival on Aug. 7 and 8,” a spokesperson for the Playhouse in Boone said.

Located near downtown Boone, The Children’s Playhouse boasts a number of indoor play areas — an art room, a train room, indoor “Romp and Stomp” with ballpit, and a pretend play area, complete with dress up clothes and a play kitchen.

Executive Director Kathy Parham said, “Be sure to stop by and check out our new Paws and Claws Vet Clinic, Baby Meadow with aquarium, and improved Romp and Stomp with a new bouldering wall!”

The Playhouse’s outdoor offerings include sand and water play, climbers and gardening and art activities. Special toys are also offered for babies and toddlers.

The Playhouse is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents or caregivers must stay with their children.

Admission is $5 per person and infants 1 year or younger are admitted free.

Parents can take the fun on the road with a Playhouse Passport membership for $125, which will allow them and their family free admission to The Playhouse for a year, plus their children will get to play for free at more than 150 children’s museums across the country.
